A Seat at the Table Foundation is a community-driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering underrepresented communities and younger generations through civic engagement and voter mobilization. Inspired by the legacy of Shirley Chisholm, our mission is to break down barriers to participation in the democratic process so every voice is heard and valued. We build a more informed and engaged electorate through creative events, impactful dialogues, and strategic partnerships.
Drive Voter Participation
A critical goal of A Seat At The Table Foundation is to increase voter turnout, especially among Millennials, Generation Z, and marginalized communities who have historically been underrepresented at the polls. We aim to engage these groups through innovative outreach, relatable messaging, and convenient access to voting resources.

Beyond voting, we believe that active participation in the democratic process is essential for a healthy and thriving community. We foster civic engagement by creating spaces for education, meaningful dialogue, and direct action, through workshops, panels, and community programs.

Systemic barriers, such as lack of access to voting information, voter suppression tactics, and disenfranchisement, continue to prevent many underrepresented groups from exercising their right to vote. We are committed to addressing these challenges by providing the necessary resources, education, and support to overcome them.

Future Leaders
We understand that the future of our democracy relies on the empowerment of the next generation. We equip young people with the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to become informed and active participants in their communities. Through leadership development programs, mentorship, and hands-on civic engagement opportunities, we help youth recognize their potential to influence policy decisions and advocate for change. By nurturing their growth as future leaders, we aim to build a more equitable and inclusive political landscape for generations to come.
